About

Bonjour!
I'm Jessica and I'm a French student at the University of Nottingham. I did my year abroad in Lille, Nord-pas-de-Calais. I lived in a town called Douai, 20 minutes from the city centre by train. I chose to be an English Language Assistant through the British council. I lived with a French family.

  1. Hi, sorry not sure if you've posted about this already but what is the French course like at Nottingham? I'm applying for French in 2021 and I'm considering applying there. Is there a good mix of literature & culture modules? Is the French department big at all? Sorry for all the qs haha!

    1. Hi there!
The course at Nottingham is incredible and I couldn’t recommend it enough. It has the best mixture of literature and culture modules which was actually commented on when I was in France! I was told I had such a broad range of knowledge on French history, politics, literature and film it was outstanding for the French to be able to discuss it all with me. I ended up knowing more about the history of their political parties than my own country! Shocking but true. I’m not sure what you mean really by big? There are many different teaching staff, there are many students. Same as any university I guess! Hope this helps and get in touch if I can be of any more help!
